My 7 day Mini- Banana Weight Gain Challenge + Impressive Results!

Take Up The 7 Day Challenge for Quick Weight Gain, Today!!

On the past one week, I was in another 7-day weight gain challenge. The idea of the challenge accidentally hit me when I decide to start eating baby bananas on the last Monday. Now, you might have the question- why am I going for baby/mini varieties of Bananas? Honestly, I am not so comfortable with the taste of the large bananas. For me, the baby bananas were having only a subtle flavor which makes it easy for me to gulp down a LOT of them in one go!

Weight Gain challenge quick result mini banana in a week

And then the fact hit me, why not to do it as a challenge so that you guys can actually get to know my results and experience. So that if at all it works, you can try it for yourselves.

On the fourth day of my challenge, I did a little research about the nutrition facts of baby bananas. That was when I realized, I was accidentally on the right track. Baby bananas have no fat, but just one banana has 80 calories in it! That was amazing.! And it was actually then that I felt even more hopeful.

My Results with the 7 day Mini Banana Weight Gain Challenge:-

I started with the challenge when I was 48 kgs on empty stomach. Here is how much bananas I ate in the past week along with the days mentioned. You can obviously eat more ;)

>>> On Monday, I ate 3 bananas
>>> On Tuesday- I ate 5 of them
>>> On Wednesday- I ate 7 bananas

And the next day, when I checked my weight on an empty stomach, I was weighing 49 kgs!

>>> On Thursday I could eat only 2 bananas. The leftover two from the previous purchase. My dad bought enough bananas today but they were not ripe :(

Though at first, I had a bad feeling; I thought it would be a great idea to rest for a day right in the middle of the challenge week so that my body doesn't feel exhausted and I could also see if the results disappear overnight or not! Luckily, it didn't!

>>> On Friday- I ate 7 bananas
>>> On Saturday- I ate 6 of them.
>>> On Sunday- I ate 6 of them again.

The next day, I checked my weight on empty stomach, I weighed 50 kilograms!

It is actually unbelievable for me to realize that I have gained 2 kilograms with just the addition of mini bananas in my diet.

This is a 100% working remedy and highly suggest each of you opting for a weight gain to try it out just for a week and see the results for yourselves.! And yes, I do expect you to come back and leave me your comment on how it helped you with your WG journey.

Weight Gain Goal #1 : Accomplished!

I can't forget this month. A lot of things both good and bad came along and I had to stay strong. I was supporting myself, motivating myself, cheering up myself and it all meant a single thing. Your best friend is yourself. Stop looking out for help when you CAN help yourself in situations. This is NO joke. I would've stayed depressed and gloomy all this while because there were plenty of reasons. But I decided to treat myself the way it should be. Overall, I am glad that it did, it made me feel brave and stronger now :)

I am also happy that I joined MBA  in Sikkim Manipal University DE. I can't be happier because I realize that my parents haven't lost their faith in me.

Weight Gain update:-

I saw the long awaited 50 kg -110 pounds Mark on my weighing scale today! Gained 11 pounds i.e, 5 kilograms to be exact since I started this blog. It was indeed a slow phase but now I know things better. Like how my typical day and diet should be. I drink water just like how we are often asked to do so. Though this is NOT the first time I am weighing 50 kilograms 'this point' was from where my weight went down from, in the year 2012 :)

The real struggle is from now on because I haven't crossed the 50 kg mark in my life. I hope to get to 55 kilograms which are my current goal and my 'looks' will decide if I have to continue gaining some weight or to maintain my weight!

One issue that is bothering me right now is that nobody recognizes that I have gained weight. But in a little bit of scrutiny, I saw that there is a visible change to my upper arms. When I searched online I found that it is a normal case. I personally feel it might be because I have a broad shoulder and I am enough tall as well. Not so sure...though.

One new update for my readers: if you are also on a weight gain track, I would like to share your experience here on this page as testimonials. Please do send me an email if you need any help to get started.

My Weight Gain Regime + Reliable Tips Suggested by my Dietician!

Finally, I made up my mind to meet a dietician! Meeting a dietician has been a pending task for a longggggg time. I have always wanted to take an appointment, but somehow I missed it from time to time due to various reasons. It would not be a lie if I say I felt I could save the money for the appointment to buy myself some butter, cheese, and cream :P Plus, I was suspicious regarding the meet up with the doctor because a few doctors are stupid enough to comment " just eat everything and drink BOOST daily!" Ufff... I can't handle these dialogues anymore. So finally, yesterday I decided to face whatever that's gonna come up.

I literally convinced myself that it won't be an abashing experience since a dietician won't be so rude to someone like me. AND yes, I was right!

I decided to talk about these matters in particular like my current
eating habits, anemic history, and all time fatigueness.

First of all, she asked me my age and checked my height and weight. My height is 164 cm and weighs 48 kgs! ( HMM, lost a kilogram :( ) After having checked that she said I am not an 'underweight' though it seems like I AM one! 😀 She said that my ideal weight will be between 55 kgs to 60 kgs!  So my first ]goal is to get to 50 Kilograms and then to 55 kilograms.

Here are my dietician's suggestions and advice :-

- Before the 3 regular meals, she asked me to have a light food like a fruit, juice etc.

- She asked me to do not rely on junk food and fried varieties. That was one that I didn't want to do either. Plus she said not to eat too much of beef and mutton ( as they are high in cholesterol)

- To have milk 2 times a day.

- Being a Muslim, and obviously a non-veg, she suggested me to have a non-veg dish (preferably Fish or Chicken) accompanied with my lunch or dinner.

- She also asked me to have nuts and dates throughout the day.

- There were no medicines or protein powders or other nutritional supplements prescribed for me as she didn't felt there is a need to!

- She asked me to have 3 or 4 of those Indian breakfast dishes say roti, dosa, idlis etc. That seems to make sense for me as well :)

- To have an egg daily. Yeah, just 'one' egg. My doctor suggested me to do not exceed it on a regular basis!

- She also asked me to remain stress/tension free. Since it can take off the appetite and leave me with no cravings!

- She also asked me to include leafy vegetables in my diet.

- One thing she insisted was that to have my breakfast before 8.30. She said the ideal time to have it between 8 to 8.30 am.

- She asked me to have my dinner before 10.00 pm.

- The ideal time for lunch is before 1.30 pm.

- She asked me to have 'nendran plantains' which seems to be a plantain variety available only in the South Indian regions and obviously not available for north Indians. I am not so fond of 'those kinds of' bananas but it seems like it has more nutritional benefits than all the other variants.

- She asked me to have chickpeas or other bean varieties, sprouts etc instead of having fried snacks with my tea.

I am soon going to make a comprehensive diet plan with her tips.

Fingers crossed for the results now.

My 5 Proven Ways to Stay Motivated in the Weight Gain Journey!

This is one of the serious problems attached to any challenge around. To keep up the consistency and to stay motivated until the goal is in your hand! I was thinking that my level of motivation was slightly coming down so I had to sit and note down a few things that can actually help me keep up the challenge. I thought I would publish it because I hope at least a few of you might be finding it helpful. So, here are my top ways to motivate me to make the challenge live!

1.       Think of your health conditions:-

This can be many of our reasons to plan a weight gain. I too have many health issues that make it difficult to do everything I have to do in a day. Having a healthy weight is very important to remain active. All these days, I knew it very well that health is wealth. I in fact used to feel jealous looking at other girls of age, naturally healthy and have enough weight! But I do remind myself that every human is the same and with efforts comes the results J

2.       Think of your Haters or critics (Read relatives & Frenemies):-

Seriously this is gross. I can count a number of people at this particular moment, who has commented about my skinny body, made fun of myself in front of others, left the statement of wonder about how chubby I was in my childhood and many other incidents that have happened at different points of my life. I have HAD enough; it’s time to prove something NOT for any of them. But to myself that they are wrong!

3.       Challenge yourself for a special occasion ahead:-

Yes! I have MY wedding coming up mostly by the end of this year. So, the reason is simple. I too have to look my best just like every other girl! Dreams are so high!

If not your marriage, think of your best friend’s marriage ;)

4.       Think of the “wow…moment”, the next time you are catching up with your friends

Okay, this happens to me every single time. I have a catch up with my close friends once in a year. Every time I see them, they have actually frowned and said:” you are getting slimmer day by day! “That makes me sad too. I am trying to visualize that moment of this year and the way they are going to cry in excitement for seeing a fit me.

5.       Think of all those relatives of your same age who have DONE it!

Trust me; I have seen many girls who were in the same boat of me. But as and when their marriage approaches or the date is fixed, they bring about such a huge change to their body! From skinny to a fat one! Okay, my idea is not to be a tomato but I want myself fit and happy in my skin.

Finally, Imagine the pretty yourself every single time you feel down with the challenge.

My Current Weight Gain Regime - I

Here I am sharing my current diet, WG regime, supplements I take etc.

My typical day starts with breakfast. Because I just can’t start drinking water the moment I wake up. I always try to have a filling breakfast. Though I am a lover of instant breakfasts, being a south Indian I have that natural instinct for those yummy breakfasts for which the work starts the day before itself (soaking the rice, grinding, leaving it to ferment etc) But they are nutritious (high in protein & fibre) and are massive beneficial too! These days I take care to include that kind of breakfast in the majority of the days in a week.

I then take my multivitamin tablet which is the Country Life Core Daily 1 tablet for women, which I have reviewed in detail over here.

I have also started taking B Protein Nutritional Powder with my milk as per my gynaecologist’s advice. It is nothing but an energy drink and as far as I know, you really do not need a prescription to buy it but is highly advisable to consult your doctor. I will review it once I finish my current bottle.

Then I have my lunch which is rice ( like every day).  I am not so fond of rice so I mostly do not exceed a limit. Maybe somewhere around 2-2 ½ cups of cooked rice. I am trying to increase the portion size slowly with each day (not really sure if I could finish my plate but still). Then I might go for a nap. When I wake up I will have something to snack. That can be anything from a bakery or I prepare something.

In between of this time, if I feel hungry I munch on some cinnamon sugared almonds, chocolate (those things which I have in stock) etc. Otherwise, it is the lunch that I eat afterwards and then I might have some fruits too.

I have my next glass of milk with the protein powder before I go to sleep.  If I do not feel like having a protein drink I blend with mangoes or try any of these ways which I have mentioned in this post  J

One thing that I have made a POINT is that to see I have added ghee/butter/fresh cream to almost everything possible.

A few things that I feel I should start doing:-

1.       Start exercising

2.       To fix a time for all my three main meals.

3.       Drink enough water!

4.       This might not be a good thing to do, but I am planning to have a portion of cake with buttercream icing and chocolate ganache every day!

I am truly hoping that I gain at least 4 kilograms this month. Let us see how it goes..
